I would say the path that led me to the Financial Services Industry was a bit...unconventional. A lot of people think Financial Advisors come from some kind of economics or business background. I got here following a 16-year radio career.

I would say the path that led me to the Financial Services Industry was a bit...unconventional. A lot of people think Financial Advisors come from some kind of economics or business background. I got here following a 16-year radio career.
Radio took me all over the country (literally, from BC to Nova Scotia) but I’ve been in Northern Ontario since 2006 (starting out in Timmins, then moving south to North Bay in 2011) and jumped to the Financial Services Industry in 2016. After spending a few years in management with Freedom 55 Financial, I stepped back into the Advisor role full time in 2021 so I could fully dedicate my time to helping my clients and growing my practice.
To that end, I earned my Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation – which is the gold standard in the world of finance – in 2022.
On the personal side, I'm a pretty big nerd. I read comics, collect Funko Pops, and watch Sci-Fi. Thank goodness my wife (who is an absolute SAINT for putting up with my shenanigans) and two daughters share some of those interests!
Our oldest is into horseback riding and martial arts. I remember being really excited when she agreed to start martial arts. I’ve been training since I was a kid and it’s a blast getting to watch her grow and develop those new skills. Luckily, she doesn’t expect me to ride horses with her – I got on a horse once a few years ago…it didn’t go well.
Our youngest, is a little firecracker! She’s funny as hell and does what she wants. She’s convinced the world belongs to her and we’re all just living in it. I know for a fact that she’s going to cause me a lot of sleepless nights as she gets older.

That’s the $1,000,000 question, isn’t it? With all the Advisors and Finfluencers out there, why choose me?

I could start off by saying I have my Certified Financial Planner designation which, according to FP Canada means I have, “demonstrated the knowledge, skills, experience and ethics to examine my clients’ entire financial picture, at the highest level of complexity required of the profession,” but I don't think the fancy letters beside someone's name should convince you to do business with them.
Along with the CFP designation comes a fiduciary responsibility to my clients. I have to do what’s in your best interest, always. Not everyone in this industry can say that.
I could also mention that I don't work for a large company or institution. There is no "boss" telling me to push certain products. I run my own shop. The only people I work for are my clients.
But really, I think the biggest advantage to working with me is in the relationship we build.
This business is all about relationship building (which was one of those surprise carryovers from radio). Knowing what funds to pick or what type of insurance to use is important, sure, but knowing YOU is more important. I strive to build and maintain a great relationship with every client. That way, I’m able to get to know you and what’s important to you on a much deeper level and, together, we can build a plan that is tailored to you and your individual needs.
I’m not a cookie-cutter Advisor; you’re not going to get a cookie-cutter plan.
